LIKE me, SHARE me – Personality Re-order May 20, 2011

Dumped my complicated Flash website and went for the DIY WordPress. Check it out: www.johnbeasleymusic.com. It has all the, what I call, self-esteem buttons LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT. When did I start slipping backwards and become so needy? Social Media is going to drive us to need collective therapy. We present ourselves as willing game-show contestants with GIANT BUTTONS we ask the world out there to hit in an instant they LIKE your music, SHARE the passion with friends, and COMMENT to know what was provocative.

Was ignorance bliss in the first 30 years of my career? I’m now a slave to Google Analytics. Every day, I have pick the petal off the metaphorical rose “fan loves me, fan loves me not.” Social Media, you make me more vulnerable, but I welcome the connectivity and transparency. I’ve learned a lot from all of you out there who push my buttons. So, keep poking and stroking and my end of the bargain will be to make creative intelligent music.

And, this is website is a work in progress…more oil changes every 3,000 hits!
